So, nothing could be any different for Tyson's first birthday! His birthday is actually tomorrow (the 29th), but we, of course, started the celebration last weekend with a birthday party! Here are some pictures...
We put the cake in front of him to take pictures and to sing. The whole time the cake was in front of him he was smacking his lips...just waiting for a bite!!
The traditional "cake picture". It took him a little bit to dig in and get his hands dirty, but then he did a pretty good job...
The next day, we decided to go bowling (Creighton got a gift card from an ISU study he participated in, so he wanted to use that!). After we went bowling, we went to Happy Joe's in honor of Tyson's birthday (Mommy just really wanted some Taco Pizza...hehehe =)).
We haven't taken the kids bowling in a really long time, so it was really fun to watch them play! Creighton got a spare and Addy got a strike!! It's a good thing I didn't play...I wouldn't want them to know they can beat me (even with bumpers).
When you get a spare or a strike, they flash the symbol (for whatever you got) up on the screen. Unfortunately, since it flashes, it's a little hard to get a picture!!
But, don't worry, I got a picture of my 4th kid and his strike...
I've noticed when you take little kids bowling, there is a lot of waiting involved. Since they can't push the ball very hard, they have to stand there and wait for a while!

And waiting (really, this is how he waited every time--frozen in whatever position he was in when the ball left his hand)...

And finally...at Happy Joe's--there's the seriousness again!! They were singing to him with the sirens and horn!
