Weekend Fun

This past weekend, we enjoyed going to see some of my extended family a couple of hours away. I wasn't sure we were going to make it there due to some problems with our van, but we arrived--in true "Seastrand" style--an hour late!
(FYI--we think the problems with our van our fixed! A HUGE thank-you to Nate's dad for helping us figure out how to get it running and another HUGE thank-you to my brother-in-law Mike who pulled out the whole circut board and fixed the problems with that!!)

We were all visiting in a 'little' room (it's actually a fairly big room, but gets little really fast when you put nine kids in it!), but the all of the kids did suprisingly well (another special thanks goes to my brother-in-law, Greg, for taking the kids out bug hunting!)! We ended the day with a special trip to Chuck E. Cheese with my sisters and their kids! If you're wondering what I was thinking by adding in Chuck E. Cheese to an already busy day--it's ok; I'm wondering the same thing. For about half of the ride home Addy screamed because she was "too hot" (maybe...because she was crying so hard??). She pulled her shirt half way off and then freaked out even more because she was stuck. I felt awul for her...
...not really--it was actually quite funny.

Here are some pictures from the day:

On another note...just a quick update about my thyroid testing. I've gone to the dr. for a couple more tests since the last time I posted anything. My numbers kept getting lower and lower each time they drew blood.

So, I had an appointment this morning with the doctor and he is pretty sure I have Graves Disease. He said he has exhausted all other possibilites, but we will have to wait for the blood test (an antibody test that takes 1 week for results) to confirm it. I will be seeing a specialist on Thursday morning to talk more about treatment options. All of the treatment options include taking a pill for the rest of my life, but that's about the extent of it. So, it's really not a big deal--just something that will require monitoring (probably blood tests once a year from what I've read).

Please pray that I will not develop any of the eye problems. The doctor I saw today mentioned that sometimes the eye problems develop even while being treated for Graves Disease. I'm praying that the specialist says something different...

Anyway, that's about all we know for now. I'll try to update you on Thursday or Friday if I get any new information.
