Party Time!

The party is over, the cookie and cupcakes are gone, and our house is still standing--I call that successful! =) We had 30+ people packed in our house (probably about 1/2 of them being kids!) Addy found the bag of party stuff that I didn't use and found the noise-makers in there (she insisted we buy those--I think I could have bought ONLY those and she would have been happy with the party!). The noise-makers were meant to be a PARTING gift for all of the kids, but Addy kindly passed them out to each child about an hour before the party was to be done. So...then things got a little crazy! I said to my sister "I think our house is too small for this" and her response was "it wasn't...until the noisemakers and balloons came out!" So true, so true. =)
Below are pictures of the rainbow that turned out well...I'm not a cake decorator by any stretch of the imagination, but Addy thought it was cool and that's all I needed to know! We had a Wizard of Oz theme for her party, so the yellow cupcakes are the yellow brick road leading up to the rainbow. We also had a yellow brick road going up our front sidewalk, a tornado (streamers from the ceiling fan) in the living room (thanks Nate!!) and some rainbow ice cubes. But, I was so worried about getting pictures of the cookie and cupcakes before somebody's hand got stuck in it, I forgot to take pictures of everything else!

When I was putting Addy to bed, I asked her if she had fun at her party and she said "yeah...but there were so many kids here I could hardly breathe!" I could understand that feeling! =) Seriously, we are so blessed to have a wonderful family and so many wonderful friends--thank you to everyone who came to help us celebrate Addy's birthday! And a thank you for your thoughts and birthday wishes to those of you who couldn't be at the party--we missed you!! We love you all!
