Integrity

My dad often used to ask my sisters and I "how much is your integrity worth?" when we were faced with a decision to do right or wrong.

Recently we have been talking about integrity in school, so I started asking Creighton the question "how much is your integrity worth?" Being my firstborn, rule-follower--he will not sell his integrity. I have asked him if it's worth a million or billion dollars and he adamently says no.

The other night we were in the car and Creighton asked Addy out-of-the-blue "Addy, how much is your integrity worth? Two thousand?" Here's how the conversation went from there...

A: "Mmm...Fourteen hundred."
Me: "Addy, do you know what that means?"
A: "No."
Me: "How much is your integrity worth means how much would it take for you to do something bad or dishonest. So, would you do something bad or dishonest for a million dollars?"
A: "Yeah! Well, actually, I would do it for a dollar!"
