Creighton will be playing Upward Basketball again this year at our church. We just recently found out that they have also added an Upward Cheerleading program this year! Addy is excited to be able to do cheerleading in the next few years, but Creighton was a little disappointed by this new addition. Here's how the conversation went:
C: Oh...they added cheerleading this year...
Me: Yeah! That will be really fun!
C: Not really...
Me: Why not? You'll have kids doing cheers while you play--just like the Cyclones!
C: I know, that's why it won't be fun. I will be WAY too distracted by those cheerleaders!
(Flash forward to Creighton in high school when he's distracted by the cheerleaders in a whole different way... =))
I went on to tell him that he could be a cheerleader if he would rather.
C: Cheerleading is for girls.
Me: There are boys who are cheerleaders for the Cyclones.
C: Um...no thanks. I think I'll just stick with basketball.

ohhhh. . . I just love the way their minds think!!!! Bria was telling me the other day that right now she has to not like boys and think they're gross because when she gets to be a teen, then she has to be all boy crazy! I was thinkig - no, you really don't have to be boy CRAZY!!!
