I'm baaaack!!

Whew. It's been a wild couple of weeks, but now I'm back to blogging finally! Thank you to everyone for all of your thoughts, prayers, phone calls, e-mails, meals, etc. while I was recovering from surgery!

As far as the surgery goes, things went exceptionally well (compared to having my appendix out!) and I'm feeling great now (some soreness still, but nothing that hinders me from day-to-day activity). They told me that I couldn't lift more than 5 pounds for 2 weeks...HA! I go this Friday for a check-up with the surgeon.

On another note--my heart has been acting weird again with all the thyroid stuff going on. When I was in the hospital for surgery, my heart rate was pretty consistently between 43 and 47 beats per minute. The nurses finally shut off the heart rate monitor because the alarm kept sounding! This past Friday it was up to around 50 or 55 beats per minute.

So, I called to ask if I could stop taking my beat-blocker (since that is for slowing my heart rate). They very hesitantly said yes, I could stop it. I've been feeling light-headed and had a bad headache the past couple of days now. So, I'm not sure if it's withdrawl from the medicine or just because my heart rate is speeding up now (it's around 70ish) or what. I find myself longing for this all to be over...

When I went in for my surgery, they drew some blood and they told me that my TSH level was a "little low". The level it was at was .04! That's high (if you remember, it has been undetectable up to this point)!! So, that was great news to know that the iodine therapy is still working as planned. I go for my next blood draw at the end of this week.

Ok, enough about that--just wanted to give an update!

Here are some fun pictures of the kids from the last couple of weeks:
