Update

I know it's been awhile since I've posted...I apologize again! We've been busy with some church stuff and then we've been trying to be really devoted to spending more time with the kids and as a family in the evenings! I have 2 really big things to update everyone on...

#1--My sister quit her job! That, in turn, means that I will no longer be doing daycare! So, after next Thursday I will no longer have her kids and she will be a stay-at-home mom! It is bittersweet for me--I'm excited to not have five kids every day! =) But, at the same time, I am horribly sad not to have them here every day anymore--they are both the sweetest kids! At least they are my niece and nephew so I will still get to see them a lot! =)

#2--I went for my first thyroid appointment since my iodine treatment. A little background for you--the 2 levels that they test are my TSH and T4 levels. It's really complicated what the TSH and T4 levels are, so I'll let you look that one up if you're really, really bored someday rather than me trying to explain it! =)

My TSH level is still so low that it is undetectable, so there's no way of telling if that has improved or not. However, my T4 level has dropped to within a normal range (it was high). So, that was great news--it means that the radioactive iodine treatment is working at least to some degree! The doctor that I saw said that the T4 level is usually the first to stabalize and then the TSH levels usually follow within the next several months at the most. I go again in 4 weeks to get my blood drawn and then we will see where we're at--ready to start medication or more waiting.

Thanks for your prayers!

That's great news about your thyroid stuff. . . . I know that can really throw your body out of whack. It sounds like things are moving in the right direction with the treatments - YAY!
And you're almost done with daycare, wow! I can imagine the bittersweet feelings that creates. Like you said though, at least you still get to be around those two. . . .hopefully the change of pace around your house will be just right for everyone. Is your sister excited about being able to stay home?
