Our Springtime Friends

One of the things I love most about spring is all of the little baby animals that we start to see. I love to see birds nests and check them for baby birds and I love to see the little bunnies. I'm sure those of you with gardens have a different opinion on that... =)

Here is one of our new 'friends' that we've been feeding:


Here is another 'friend' (*shudder*) that Creighton found in the neighbor's yard (Genny--scroll down fast... =)):


We also found a little baby robin still in it's shell, but the shell was 1/2 broken. It was so sad because it was still alive and opening it's beak, but we didn't know how to save it. We let the kids think we saved it, but we couldn't. A few days later, we saw some blue shell on the sidewalk by the library and Addy said "Look, Mom! It's from our bird--we did save him!" Sorry, honey, we tried... =(

We're suckers for saving animals around here...we even took a hummingbird to the vet one time so they could try and save it! =) I pray our kids grow up with the same love of animals that we have! I see it a little...Creighton caught a spider in our house not too long ago and he wouldn't squish it--he had to let it go outside. Saving a spider?? That's taking it a little too far... ;)
